8. Why do you want to play this character and what plans might you have for them?
(Be specific, the more you tell us about how you see this character and how you want to play them the better.)
Tae is the economic powerhouse! A woman on the go providing great food at reasonable prices. I really love her friendly but assertive nature and the great sense of community (and gossip) she brings to her friends. She's not very strong but her big heart more than makes up for it.
Tae is a career woman and entrepenuer and spends the majority of her waking hours either working at one of her restaurants, of which she has two-- or filling out paperwork. That's not to say she doesn't know how to kick back and take some time off, however. She loves to shop, loves to watch dramas, loves to watch men, and is slightly addicted to coffee, chocolate and gossip. She is also a bit of an internet junkie and is constantly checking her mail. Mostly for business purposes, but she has been known to take an extended lunch break if a sale is going on close by.
9. - Please provide a character history for your character. The year is now 2060 in New Meiji, what has the character been doing with his/her life? Does he/she have any memories from his/her first live during the Bakumatsu and Meiji eras?
Tae is the middle (sort of) child of four. She has an older brother, Gai, a twin sister, Sae (of which she is older by two minutes) and a little sister Mae. She's always lived firmly ensconced in the slightly upper middle class of New Meiji, in a good neighborhood where she could walk the streets at night with little to no risk. When the war was going on, this area of the city was well within the government's protection grid and while she watched it going on as a child, it seemed like something far too distant for her.
Growing up she went to Musashi Prep, a high end school for girls located in Kyoto, where she excelled at English, accounting, tennis and being a hardcore forum moderator of a community for "Our Eyes Are Stars", a popular drama at the time. Upon returning to New Meiji at 18, she went to a vocational college for two years, got her business degree, and went into her family's restaurant business, eventually taking over the Akabeko from her father so that he and her mother could go to the States to help with Gai's burgeoning family (six kids and counting. Yeesh)
Currently, Tae is the owner and operator of the Akabeko, and the owner and occasional eater at Bakufu Burger, a fast food chain with a theme centered around the Shinsengumi. Though fast food is a bit of a misnomer, because although the service is fast, the food is generally good and fairly cheap and the chain itself has somewhat of an occult following, especially among fellow Shinsengumi fans.
Tae remembers bits and pieces of the past, mostly in dreams and will double-take if she sees a familiar face. She has a strong connection to that time period and, on occasion, will have serious deja vu.
10. Please answer the following questions, as your character would (This is for fun, folks, and to help us learn a little bit more about your character!)
What is your:
Name: Sekihara Tae
Age: 24! for the fifth year in a row
Occupation: Restaraunteer Extraordinaire!
Family background: The Sekiharas come from a long respectable line of foodservice workers since before the Meiji era. My brother Gai, owns the Kurobeko in Seattle, Sae owns the Shirobeko in Hokkaido, and Mae runs the Bleufache in Montpelier. Papa and Mama used to run the Akabeko but they've gone to help Gai out with his brood. Also I think Papa wants to go fishing there like he used to when he was a boy. (laughs) I miss them, though. My house is too big without them.
Best memory:
Well, I was walking down Shijo Road in Kyoto and I ducked into this cute little boutique that sold figurines for doll houses, minatures? Because I knew that the_scream_queen11 was trying to make a diorama of Tekuchi's house in "Blue Tinged Memories", which ended entirely too soon in my very humble opinion, when, who should I see walking by but Takahiro Ryouma! THE Takahiro Ryouma! And his entire entourage! I might have snapped a picture or a dozen. And I might have stalked him down the road. And I might have snuck into a club to say hi to him only to accidentally graze his nice round bum and get summarily bounced out of said club but what goes on in Shijo Road stays on Shijo Road.
Worst memory:
I'd been dating Aido for going on two years and we were--well, we were serious. He was a real charmer, you know? His family background was a little rough but he'd worked his way up to making a pretty good pay as a clerk in this small electronics store. That's where I met him. He fixed my laptop and didn't even charge me because he said I had a cute smile and, goodness, I about melted right on the spot. Still we got along really well and every day was like magic. But... well, Aido was really into Jujitsu. It was his life. He wanted to become an instructor but he had to past this test which was really rigerous and-- it stressed him out. And he...he started to change. He couldn't sleep. He had no appetite. There were days that I didn't see him and then he started asking for money. First just a little but then... ....well anyway the long and the short of it is, one day he comes in, red eyed and screaming at me for money now. Because he needed something I refused and...and he...it got a little physical. I ended up in the hospital with twenty-three stitches. I found out later he was hooked on AMP and had been since before I'd known him... He's in jail right now... He's apologized but...I've...never really...
Hobby: When I'm not ruling the restaurant world, I am watching dramas or chatting about said dramas or shopping. I am a little bit of a clothes horse. I also love to bake. Cookies, cakes, muffins, bread...but I don't sell that stuff. It's only for my family and friends. also I'm an e-mail addict and text junkie. Do those count as hobbies?
Cellphone color: I have a white iphone Giga with the Bocchan phone helper, a star charm, a bell charm and a kitten charm. It is my life. My life
Do you watch media either by tv, phone, computer,or other device?

"Tanga Falls"
"Lonely Ones of Roppongi"
"Orangetree"
and of course:
"Maho-chan in Wondeurland"
11. Fanfiction? give url please http://www.fanfiction.net/u/58547/
12. Posting regularly helps keep the game moving. Please indicate your availability to post.
Probably at least once a day. But not less than once every few days.
13. Please provide at least two mock-journal samples for your character, both written in third person to go with the spirit of the game. One should include dialogue.
"Irasshaimase!" Tae called cheerfully over the dull roar of the restaurant. The customer smiled and was lead to a booth by a Ana-chan who was looking wonderful in her flowered yukata. Once the customer was out of sight, Tae sighed and tucked a strand of hair over her ear. Goodness, it was busy today. Lunch rushes usually were but this was ridiculous! It must have something to do with the weather. Gloomy days usually were.
Her cellphone buzzed against her stomach and she pulled it from her obi. Bocchan was holding up a sign, informing her that there was a new message on the Orangetree forum. Tae bit her lip and hovered her finger over the read button. It was probably a sneak peek at episode 8. But no! She had work to do! She slid the phone back in her obi, picked up a tray with a bowl of soba noodles and went gracefully toward the scowling, broody handsome police officer occupying the darkest corner of her little restaurant.
"My, what a handsome mouth you have," Tae said, putting a hand to your cheek. He grinned, the little dimple forming on his cheek. She wanted to press it. Tough that gruff face. He revved the motorbike, the katana at his back shifting slightly.
"Oh Miroku-san, take me with you!" Tae said. There was a laugh from the kitchen.
"Are you talking to the tv again?" Sae said, coming out from the kitchen with a bowl of chips in her hand. Tae blushed and flipped her hair over her shoulder.
"Of course not, dear! I was merely...quoting."
"Uh huh." Sae sat next to her and put the bowl of chips between them. They were the low fat tasting like cardboard kind, even though Sae didn't have an ounce of fat on her. It was almost saddening how much her sister dieted, but then again, Sae was the one with the hubby. Man catching was such a chore. Tae pulled her knees up to her chest and hooked her fingers around her legs.
"Do you think men like that really exist?" she said, watching Yoshi and his motorcycle disappear into the sunset.
"Maybe," said her sister, tucking a hand around Tae's shoulder. "But even if he did, you probably wouldn't want him."
"No, probably not," Tae agreed with a small sigh and took a bite of the chip.
